T is for Tamale
T is for Tamale is an alphabet book that explores the ritual and experience that is making tamales in Tejano culture.
My challenge throughout the semester was figuring out how to resonate with families beyond my own while providing a window in to this experience for those who come from a different culture.
I spent the semester examining objects & tamale ingredients in my grandmother's house, interviewing family, taking photos, curating words with others, painting & drawing letters, and of course making tamales!
